Current Releases

These are hand made wines, crafted without compromise, from some of the best fruit to be found in select Sonoma County vineyards.  Our aim is to create balanced, varietally true wines, that faithfully capture each year's vintage...and that taste great with food!

Cabernet Sauvignon
Alexander Valley, 2016

I fell in love with the fruit from Stuhlmuller vineyards when I went to work in their cellar in 2010.  In 2012 I moved on to another winery, but I wanted to continue making wine from these exceptional vineyards; and I've done so ever since.

Aiming for balance, the fruit was picked when just ripe, before tipping into high sugar/high alcohol territory.  The juice underwent a native fermentation, with daily punchdowns helping to extract fabulous colour and flavor.  The wine remained on the skins until the desired tannins were extracted, then gently pressed and sent to age for 24 months in French oak barrels, using 50% new oak.

The result of this gentle winemaking is an elegant Cabernet, with boysenberry and blackcurrant notes, roses and violets, and a hint of vanilla and baking spices, all held together by supple tannins.

Grenache
Russian River Valley, 2016

For those of you who enjoyed our 2015 vintage, this wine won't disappoint.  It comes from the same small vineyard, farmed and fermented in the same way, and as such shares many of the same classic Grenache qualities as its older sibling: The restrained red cherry and pomegranate fruit, supple savory notes, bright acid and gentle tannins are all present.

A great food wine, this Grenache pairs well with a wide range of dishes, from delicate pastas to grilled and roasted meats and vegetables.

Production was once again very limited, and as with the 2015, it is likely to sell out swiftly.

45 cases produced.  $38/bottle.
